How to use
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
When preparing or using this product, take care not to splash, drip or use on surfaces such as ceramic tile, linoleum, formica brand counter surfaces, carpeting, etc. as etching or discoloration of these surfaces may take place.
This product is intended only for use as a pool and spa filter cleaner.
SAND FILTERS:
Turn off inlets and outlets for all chemical feeders. Close main drain and place filter in backwash position. Slowly add 1 pint of this product through strainer while backwashing. This product can also be added through the sand fill port. Run filter until product begins to come out of the backwash water or until the product is seen through a filter viewing cell. Soak filter for 30 to 60 minutes. After soaking, backwash filter until water comes out clean and foam clears. Reverse procedure and start normal filter operation. For sand filters containing more than 150 pounds of sand, add 1 quart of this product.
CARTRIDGE FILTERS:
Stop filter operation. Bleed off excess pressure through the filter safety valve. Open filter unit, remove cartridge from filter, and rinse excess loose dirt with a water hose from top to bottom. Place cartridge into a bucket and add 1 pint of this product and 2 1/2 gallons water. Make sure filter unit is completely covered by the cleaner. Soak 30 to 60 minutes. After soaking, rinse with hose at maximum pressure to remove excess filter cleaner or until foam residue is completely washed off. Re-install cartridge and resume normal filter operation.
DIATOMACEOUS EARTH FILTERS:
Stop filter operation. Bleed off excess pressure through safety valve. Remove filter elements (grids) from filter and rinse off excess dirt with a hose from top to bottom. Place grids in a bucket and add 1 pint of this product and 2 1/2 gallons water. Make sure grids are fully immersed in cleaner. Soak 30 to 60 minutes. After soaking, rinse out excess filter cleaner with hose at maximum pressure. Re-install grid and add new filter media. Resume normal filter operation.

Great starter cleaning set for the pool. Helps with my black algae.
I have been dealing with black algae spots along one side of my small/medium pool for 7 months. The plaster on the pool is more than 25 years old and it is fading. This is adding to the algae problem. I have tried various types of algaecide. Even tried the Pool Rx which did nothing against the black algae. I have been using a combination of Phosphate remover and scrubbing the black spots with 3 inch trichlor chlorine tablets. This has helped reduce and keep the algae from spreading but the algae is mostly still there.The first two products from this starter set I tired were the algaecide and a bag of the pool shock. The algaecide has a copper complex that may be similiar to the one in the pool Rx. I believe the combination of the copper complex and the pool shock has helped to reduce the black algae spots. I'm waiting to use the other cleanering products after another round of the algaecide and shock. I really like that the larger bottles have a see through slit to see how much is left in the bottle along with some measurements next to it. This alone makes things so much easier. The only issue I have so far is the test strips. There's only ten in the bottle and it's really hard to read the text on the side of the bottle to figure out which color boxes are for what chemicals. So far this is a great starter set for the price listed. The algaecide and the 2 bags of chlorine shock are the standouts. Great product that saves you time and money. You don't have to order and buy separate products. Just get this one.
This kit has everything you need. All bottles and packs are full-size. I used mine as a tune-up kit, after my pool was already open. The clarifier was my favorite. Worked well and the Polly was absolutely sparkly!
Didn't have to use everything in the kit yet, but got the pool opened and it's looking great. having all the chemicals you need in a single package makes everything a lot easier. Well worth the price IMO
We have a 15K gallon in-ground pool. We leave our pool open year round. The bottom gets dirty and the water gets murky over the winter. I spend about a week every spring cleaning the pool and getting the water ready for use. We use opening kits similar to this MAV Aqua Doc opening kit every year when getting the pool ready. For me, this kit worked as good as any I have used in the past. After using this pool opening kit, the water looks crystal clear. I still need to clean the bottom of the pool, but the water looks great. This opening kit did a great job in getting the water ready.The kit didn't come with instructions, but if you've had to maintain your own pool for a while then you know how to use kits like this. I wouldn't hesitate to get this MAV AquaDoc kit again.
