Total Dissolved Solids Pool

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) refers to the total amount of dissolved substances in pool water, including minerals, salts, and organic matter.

Why TDS Matters

High TDS levels can lead to cloudy water, poor sanitizer efficiency, and unpleasant tastes or odors.

Ideal TDS Levels

  • Swimming pools: 1,500-2,000 ppm
  • Saltwater pools: 3,000-5,000 ppm

How to Reduce TDS

  1. Partially drain and refill the pool with fresh water.
  2. Maintain proper chemical balance to minimize TDS accumulation.
